Join us for the Second Annual Saskatchewan Energy & Natural Resources Forum, hosted by the Saskatchewan First Nations Natural Resource Centre of Excellence (the Centre)  in association with Deloitte. This three-day event is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to engage with First Nations Leadership, Elders and Youth. Together with financial sector and business leaders, government officials, and international stakeholders we explore the transformative potential of partnering with First Nations' in North America's energy transition.

WORDS OF WELCOME

Wherever you come from, you will feel the spirit and strength of our land.

sâskwatôn (Saskatoon) is located within Treaty 6 Territory. These lands and waters have long been an Inherent place of gathering, ceremony, trade, and travel for the nêhiyawak (Cree), Anishinabek (Saulteaux), Denesuline (Dene), Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota people.

We acknowledge that Treaties 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 are living agreements — sacred covenants rooted in mutual respect, shared responsibility, and the promise of peaceful coexistence. We honour our ancestors whose footsteps have marked these lands for generations and recognize the enduring presence, strength, and contributions of First Nations since time immemorial.

We pay our deepest respect to this land of extraordinary beauty and responsibility. As we renew our relationships with one another and commit to building strong, meaningful, and lasting partnerships, we do so with gratitude for the resilience and self-determination of our First Nations people and communities.

We give thanks for the opportunity to live, work, and thrive on our traditional lands — and we welcome you to feel at home here as well.
