Building on the popularity of Mastering SAP Technologies and Cloud, we’re adding even more tech content in 2024.

Welcome to the dedicated Mastering SAP TechX program, supported by SAP ANZ Tech Hub, designed especially for developers and hands-on techies.

Delivered in TechEd-style, the TechX program integrates with, and complements, the traditional Mastering SAP agenda and provides two and a half days of hands-on CodeJam labs, inspirational keynotes, technical customer case studies, roadmap of new solutions and technical explanations of current SAP offerings. We're bringing the X-factor experts to the event including developer advocates, Thomas Jung and Michelle Moudy (travelling from US), while the content helps you stand out from the crowd by developing your own X-factor.

Join with like-minds to explore all things ABAP, CAP, RAP, Integration, UI5, AI, SAP Build, Fiori, SAP BTP, Process Automation, HANA and more.

But don’t dawdle – the hands-on CodeJam labs have limited numbers and are allocated on a first-in, best-dressed basis.

Attendance at TechX is included in your Mastering SAP Collaborate All Access Pass, and isn't available separately.

CodeJam: Introducing the Core Principles of UI5

This session introduces you to the core principles of UI5, an enterprise-ready web development framework used to build apps that follow the Fiori design guidelines. A step-by-step guide explaining how build a frontend web application using UI5. The finished app is a bookshop app, where users can browse and order books. The app sits on top of the well-known bookshop backend application built with the Node.js flavour of the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).

The session aims to be beginner friendly. If you have never built a (UI5) web app before, you will still be able to follow along. No prior knowledge is required, although it certainly helps to have experience in (web) development.

This will be a hands-on keys session, pre-registration for the limited places and BYO laptop required to take part.

Key Takeaways:

  • Get a hands-on introduction to SAPUI5
  • Learn how to use different built in features of SAPUI5
  • Get an idea of how an SAP UI5 application is built from the ground up

Dude, Where’s my Workflow Service? A Developers Experience with SAP Build Process Automation

In a world of disparate systems, it makes a lot of sense to run workflows in the cloud. SAP distilled decades of workflow experience into a single SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) service, SAP Workflow Management. Why then is it no longer available? It has been replaced by SAP Build Process Automation (SBPA), but this is no name change or cosmetic revamp.

This session will introduce SBPA and explain how it differs from its predecessor. We will explain how SBPA can be used:

  • By business users to design new digital processes (low-code/no-code)
  • To integrate off-the-shelf automations and pre-built content
  • To run migrated workflows from Workflow Management
  • To extend systems like S/4HANA in a clean-core way

Key Takeaways:

  • SAP Build Process Automation is not just a replacement for SAP Workflow Management
  • Non-technical business users can automate processes, but there are limitations
  • Legacy workflows from Workflow Management can be migrated (even from the Neo environment of SAP BTP)
