While known as a coastal resort town with palm-lined beaches and coral reefs, Playa del Carmen also offers a myriad shopping options and restaurants. Quinta Avenida is a pedestrian only stretch that extends for roughly twenty blocks.

Your time here will start at one end and the bus will pick you up at roughly the half-way point. Those who wish to hit every shop will have time to go right to the end and turn around while others who would prefer to enjoy a coffee or small bite to eat can plan to end around the pick-up point.

Added to this will be a cool (hot?) visit to a glass-blowing company where participants can see glassware made in front of their eyes and then shop from a huge variety of glass products at prices locals pay. This is definitely one of the hidden gems of our week together.
