The Arkansas Corn and Grain Sorghum Board was established to provide Arkansas's growers with the tools and resources necessary to improve profitability and sustainability.
According to USDA data, the top ten grain sorghum-producing states account for 90 percent of total U.S. acres planted. Average Arkansas production of grain sorghum in 2022 was about 80 bushels an acre for 9,000 acres. The top sorghum producing states are Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri, New Mexico and Louisiana.

Great Lakes of St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp (GLS)
The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS) is a wholly owned government corporation created by statute May 13, 1954, to construct, operate, and maintain that part of the St. Lawrence Seaway between the Port of Montreal and Lake Erie, within the territorial limits of the United States. Trade development functions aim to enhance Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway System utilization without respect to territorial or geographic limits.
The mission of the Corporation is to serve the U.S. intermodal and international transportation system by improving the operation and maintenance of a safe, reliable, and efficient deep-draft waterway, in cooperation with its Canadian counterpart. The GLS also encourages the development of trade through the Great Lakes Seaway System, which contributes to the comprehensive economic development of the entire Great Lakes region.

In 1990, the Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) worked to pass a statewide producer referendum that created the Minnesota Corn Research & Promotion Council (MCR&PC). This law provided for 1/2 cent per bushel at the first point of sale, to be collected and used for the promotion, communication and research of Minnesota corn. In 2009, Minnesota corn producers passed a referendum conducted by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to increase the state corn checkoff rate from 1/2 cent to 1 cent per bushel. This effort is targeted at creating opportunities for increased profitability for Minnesota corn farmers.
