Step onto the restaurant’s spacious outdoor patio, where panoramic vistas of cascading waterfalls and lush gardens greet you. Inside, the timeless architecture of the restaurant, with its warm wooden accents and expansive windows, allows guests to enjoy the stunning scenery in comfort.
At the heart of Queen Victoria Place Restaurant’s success is Chef Matt Hemmingsen, a Niagara-born culinary artist whose lifelong passion for food and dedication to the region’s rich heritage shine in every dish. Growing up in a family of chefs, Matt was inspired by his grandmother, who worked as a chef on lake boats, and fell in love with creating new flavors and exploring unique ingredients. His early years spent picking fresh produce on his family’s farm instilled in him a deep appreciation for locally sourced ingredients—a philosophy he brings to every dish.
A graduate of Niagara College’s Culinary Management program, Chef Hemmingsen has refined his skills in some of Niagara’s most celebrated establishments, including Cherry Hill Country Club and Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery. Drawing on his classical training and passion for regional products, he creates a menu that reflects Niagara’s vibrant culinary landscape.

The accessible ramp entrance to Queen Victoria Place Restaurant is available at the rear of the building. Staff are happy to assist guests with accessibility concerns – there are service bells at the regular entrance to the restaurant and at the rear accessible entrance, if needed.
