Chad Rintoul is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Columbia Notaries Association, the organization which represents the interests of Notary Public from across British Columbia.

Chad is a graduate of the University of Windsor, and the University of Western Ontario. He was previously the Chief Administrative Officer of the Association of BC Land Surveyors, the regulator governing the practice of Land Surveying in British Columbia. He has served on the Victoria Airport Authority Board of Directors from 2007 – 2013, where he was Chairman of Planning and Development, and from 2013 – 2018 as a Board member and President of the Peninsula Minor Hockey Association, and Director of the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association.

In addition to his role with the BCNA, Chad is elected to municipal Council for the Town of Sidney, and a member of the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia Stakeholder Advisory Committee. He also volunteers as a member of the Appeal Committee for BC Hockey.

Niki Sharma was elected MLA for Vancouver-Hastings in 2020 and previously served as the deputy caucus chair and parliamentary secretary for Community Development and Non-Profits.

Niki is a lawyer whose practice focused on representing Indigenous people, including residential school survivors. Niki has worked across B.C. as an advocate on climate policy and reconciliation. She has also been recognized for her work on combatting racism.

Niki was elected to the board of Vancity Credit Union where she served as vice-chair and chaired the Climate Justice Working Group. She also served as chair of the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation. In these roles, she worked to improve her community and make life better for people and our planet.

In 2017, Niki worked as a senior ministerial assistant helping to deliver more child care spaces for B.C. families.

Niki was raised in Sparwood, B.C. A mother of two, she has lived in East Vancouver for more than 15 years and has deep connections in the community.

Keith Baldrey is highly regarded as one of BC’s best known political commentators.

He currently serves as the chief political correspondent and legislative bureau chief for Global BC where he provides insightful coverage and analysis on the latest developments in BC’s political landscape. In 2021, Baldrey was named Broadcast Performer of the Year by the BC Association of Broadcasters for his coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Baldrey’s work is also seen in his weekly syndicated column on B.C. politics for a variety of Lower Mainland papers, including the North Shore News and the Now newspapers, and appears regularly on News Talk 980 CKNW.

He has a long history of understanding and commenting on BC politics – Baldrey joined The Vancouver Sun in 1984 and moved to the The Sun’s legislature bureau in 1986, eventually becoming its bureau chief in 1989. In 1995, he joined Global BC where over the course of his career, has covered 10 premiers, 10 provincial elections, and 12 federal elections. 

He has covered nine premiers and the 2017 election was the ninth B.C. election campaign he has covered (along with numerous federal campaigns and party leadership races).

He makes public speaking appearances on B.C. politics, has written numerous magazine articles, and co-authored a book on former premier Bill Vander Zalm and his Social Credit government.

He lives in Victoria with his wife and fellow journalist, Anne Mullens, their two daughters, and their Shiba Inu dog, Teddy.

Rimpy Sadhra is the current president of the BCNA.  She was commissioned as a BC Notary Public in 2011 and is an owner of West Coast Notaries along with her spouse, Raman Sadhra. 

Rimpy has always had a passion for education. She has been developing curriculum and teaching through the Society of Notaries Public for the last 9 years and for 3 years with the BCNA. 

Currently she is a facilitator and examiner for the conveyancing course in the Notary Education Program.

Rimpy enjoys spending time with her two children and husband cycling, travelling, cooking and listening to music. 

Quang Duong is a partner at the law firm of MacKenzie Fujisawa.  Quang is a litigator with considerable experience in professional liability and administrative law matters, real estate, wills and estates and commercial litigation.  Quang brings his broad experience and client-centred approach to help clients achieve optimal results.  He is committed to providing clients with excellent legal services by combining strategic thinking, thorough legal analysis and a down-to-earth demeanor.

Quang received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of British Columbia and his law degree from the University of Manitoba.  He clerked at the Tax Court of Canada and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2007.  Outside of work, Quang enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and sports.

Marny Morin is a Notary Public and Program Manager for the BC Notaries Captive Insurance Co. Marny is also the Secretary of the Society of Notaries Public of B.C

Larry Blaschuk is Registrar of Land Titles at the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA), responsible for ensuring the integrity of records in the land title register. 
 
Larry joined the LTSA in 2008 from private practice as a solicitor and as corporate counsel with one of BC’s leading registration service providers. He has extensive real estate and corporate/commercial practice experience serving both commercial and residential clients throughout his career.  

Outside of the LTSA, Larry is active in the community, coaching track and field since 2006 and attending the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games and numerous World Athletics Championship with his athletes.  

Larry obtained his LL.B. / J.D. from the University of British Columbia. 

Matthew Morin was commissioned as a Notary in 2020.  He currently works for the B.C. Notaries Captive Insurance Company.  He also assists Quang Duong in providing legal advice to notaries   

Peter Bjurman was commissioned in 2014 and has a notary practice in North Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler with a focus on real estate.  Peter obtained his law degree from beautiful Birmingham England in 2008 and accredited into BC in 2009.  He worked for his old man (lawyer) for many years before making the only choice of becoming a Notary.   

Richard loves what he does and the people he works with. He is passionate about workplace issues and ensures that the legal solutions he offers are practical and make situations better; not worse or more contentious.  

Richard has been practicing since 2007 and limited his practice to workplace law in approximately 2009. He is a CPHR, is certified in workplace investigations from Osgoode Hall Law School/York University and has appeared at all levels of Court in Alberta and BC, as well as the Federal Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal.  

He is a stickler for practicality, fairness and respect, and his approach aims to manage workplace issues before they become irreparable. He aims to resolve matters without unnecessary conflict but with years of trial experience, litigation is sometimes a necessary tool to get his clients a fair outcome. When engaged in litigation, Richard appreciates his relationships with opposing counsel and the mutual respect and collegiality that comes hand-in-hand with vigorous advocacy for each lawyer’s client.  

Richard believes that employers and employees are essential and deserving of fair treatment. In fact, in most cases, employers and employees have many of the same fundamental needs and aims. Jeremy is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Notary Public with nearly 20 years of diverse experience in the financial and legal sectors. Over the course of his career, he has worn many hats, taking on roles as an entrepreneur, auditor, educator, and Chief Financial Officer. His professional background spans a range of industries, including public practice, public sector, technology, real estate, telecommunications, and, most recently, law. 

Having started his career at a "Big Five" accounting firm, Jeremy has since worked in varied settings, helping business owners start new companies in Canada, the US, and as far as China. As an entrepreneur, he has operated his own businesses, and as an advisor, he has helped others launch, grow, and, when necessary, responsibly close their businesses.  

Jeremy currently resides in Courtenay where he is a partner at Old House Notary, as well as the principal of Old House CPA. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in entrepreneurial management from Royal Roads University, an MBA from Concordia University, and a Master of Applied Legal Studies from Simon Fraser University. 

Sharon G. K. Singh, Co-Head of McMillan’s Indigenous and Environment practices, brings nearly 20 years of experience advising on Indigenous, environmental, and governance matters in the major projects, including in mining and natural resources sectors. She is recognized for fostering collaborative partnerships with Indigenous nations and negotiating benefit agreements, structuring equity participation, and securing financing for critical mineral and infrastructure projects. Sharon also guides clients through permitting on reserve and Treaty lands, sustainability risk management, and sustainability strategies. 

Tiah Workman is a British Columbia Notary Public with more than 30 years of professional experience, with a particular focus on personal planning. Prior to qualifying as a notary, she worked for 10 years as a conveyancer and legal secretary, developing a strong foundation in legal practice.  

Tiah was actively involved with the Society of Notaries Public for many years, including service prior to her election as a director in 2000. Over the years, she contributed to numerous committees and mentored many new notaries. Her leadership roles included serving as Chair of both the Audit and Discipline Committees, as well as Second Vice President of the Society, before stepping down from the Board in 2010. 

Today, Tiah continues to support the profession as a Practice Inspector for the Society, drawing on her decades of experience to promote professional standards and best practices. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, singing with the local Rock Choir, and travelling as often as possible. 

Jackie Tait has been a BC Notary Public since 2013 and operates a busy notarial practice in Chilliwack, where she leads a team of eight staff members. Prior to being commissioned as a BC Notary, she spent 20 years working as a conveyancer and office manager in a notary practice, giving her a strong foundation in both notarial work and practice management.  

Jackie has also been actively involved in the profession, having served on the Board of the BCNA as Secretary-Treasurer since 2019. Throughout her career, Jackie has enjoyed sharing her practical experience and mentoring notary students, with a particular focus on preparing them for the realities of practice. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, travelling, and shopping. 

PRESENTER: Lisa Niro is the Managing Partner at Bell Alliance LLP, where she practices commercial real estate and development law with a focus on complex property transactions. In her role, Lisa helps clients navigate every stage of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, development projects, land assemblies, commercial leasing, financing, and strata wind-ups. By guiding clients through nuanced legal challenges with clarity and confidence, she delivers strategies that are both practical and tailored to her clients’ goals. 

Lisa’s legal career has been rooted at Bell Alliance. She articled with the firm after graduating from law school and, following her call to the British Columbia bar in 2015, continued on as an associate before becoming a partner and, ultimately, the firm’s Managing Partner. She is recognized not only for her experience in real estate law, but also for her thoughtful and collaborative leadership. 

Outside the office, Lisa is an avid outdoors enthusiast. She finds balance and inspiration in the mountains and on the water, whether mountain biking Vancouver’s North Shore, skiing in winter, or paddleboarding and whitewater kayaking in warmer months. 

Keith is a seasoned business executive with 25 years of experience working alongside legal professionals across Canada. He began his career in the financial sector, focusing on lending and title insurance, where he spent 16 years building strong, lasting relationships with notaries and lawyers throughout British Columbia and beyond. 
 
Now back home in B.C. with Dye & Durham, Keith is a trusted advisor whose deep industry knowledge, passion for the province, and commitment to client success continue to impact the notarial profession. He brings integrity, insight, and innovation to every aspect of his work in the dynamic landscape of B.C. real estate.

Pablo brings more than 25 years of experience in the legal technology industry, having held progressively senior positions at Thomson Reuters and serving as a strategic advisor to Clio. He has significant expertise in market insights, strategy development, financial and operational management and go-to-market strategy and customer experience. 
 
Pablo joined Dye & Durham in January 2025 and has played a pivotal role in advancing our customers’ first initiative and aligning our business objectives. As President of Canada, he oversees the entire Canadian business, including regional sales, partnerships, and marketing. 

He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer and was responsible for developing and leading Dye & Durham’s strategic vision, ensuring that it aligns with the overall business goals and market opportunities.
