Nexco Made Simple: Hands-On Workshop
Stephanie Yeats, LD, LDT
  • Stephanie Yeats, LD, LDT

This hands-on course, led by Stephanie Yeats, offers an in-depth exploration of how to elevate denture

work using SR Nexco Gingival Composite. It is suitable for both analog and digital dentures. Stain kits can

be overwhelming and costly; in this course, Stephanie demonstrates how using a limited selection of

stains and pastes can help participants quickly and efficiently enhance their dentures.

Stephanie brings more than thirty years of extensive experience to the patients and students of her practice. She began her career in 1988 as a crown and bridge technician in Devon, England, where she was born and raised. In 1991, she joined a dental laboratory that specialized in prosthetics and casting, where her passion for dentures first began.

To further her education, in 1989 Stephanie enrolled at the Dental School at Cardiff University in Wales, graduating in 1993 with a National Diploma in Science (Dental Technology). Her dedication to her studies was recognized when she received a grant from The Prince of Wales Business Trust for Young Entrepreneurs.

Following graduation, Stephanie established her own laboratory, "The Tooth Fairy," at just twenty-one years old which she ran and operated until she moved to Canada to pursue greater business opportunities in 2004.

In 2008, she became certified as a Licensed Dental Technician (LDT), which allowed her to pursue further education and professional qualifications. She later earned her Licensed Denturist (LD) license.

Stephanie is one of only four technical instructors in Canada certified to teach SEMCD (Lower Suction Denture). She has trained technicians, dentists, and denturists across North America in these specialized techniques. In addition, she is a certified instructor in Ivoclar's Bio functional Prosthetic System (BPS) and currently serves on the executive committee of the Denturist Association of British Columbia.

AI in the Denturist Clinic: Smarter Charting and Reduced Administrative Burden
Sponsored by DOMx
Dean Fenwick
  • Dean Fenwick

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly moving from theory to day-to-day reality in healthcare clinics — including denturist practices. This one-hour continuing education session will explore how modern AI tools can support more accurate patient charting, improve after-hours patient communication, and reduce the administrative load on practitioners and staff.

Presented by Dean Fenwick, founder of DOMx and long-time practice-management advisor to denturists across Canada, this session will focus on practical, real-world applications of AI rather than technical theory. Attendees will see how AI-assisted clinical documentation can transform casual chairside or post-appointment dictation into properly structured, professional SOAP notes — improving consistency, clarity, and record quality.

The presentation will also examine the growing role of AI-based phone attendance, including how AI assistants can responsibly handle missed calls, after-hours inquiries, appointment requests, and basic triage — reducing reliance on voicemail while maintaining professionalism and patient confidence.

Special attention will be given to privacy considerations, consent, data residency, and professional accountability, with discussion tailored to the Canadian and BC regulatory environment.

This session is designed to inform, not overwhelm — helping denturists understand what is possible today, what is coming next, and how to evaluate AI tools responsibly for their own clinics.

    Learning Objectives

    • Understand how AI-assisted charting works and how spoken, informal clinical notes can be converted into structured SOAP documentation.
    • Identify practical use cases where AI can reduce charting time while improving clarity and consistency in patient records.
    • Explain how AI phone attendants differ from voicemail, and how they can support patient communication when staff are unavailable.
    • Recognize key privacy, consent, and data-handling considerations relevant to AI use in Canadian denturist clinics.
    • Evaluate whether and where AI tools may be appropriate in their own practice, based on clinic size, workflow, and patient expectations.

Dean Fenwick is the founder of Specialized Office Systems Inc. which provides the DOMx practice management system for denturists: www.denturistsoftware.com. He has been a key contributor to the evolution of electronic claim submissions for denturists from its inception. Dean spent years teaching practice management to denturist students at NAIT and continues to support denturist education across Canada. As an avid supporter and champion for denturists, he is committed to the growth and prosperity of this vital industry. Dean firmly believes that with the rapid changes in technology, denturists should not only keep pace but be at the forefront of innovation.

Optimizing Your Designs for Faster, Better-Looking Results
Sponsored by Straumann
Corey Hyde
  • Corey Hyde

Faster and better-looking aren't a trade-off — they come from the same place: smarter decisions made early in the design. Drawing on a fully digital denture practice, this session breaks the digital denture workflow in 3Shape Dental System down into five practical levers that simultaneously cut design time and raise the quality of what comes off your printer and mill. You'll see how to put presets to work so you stop re-deciding the same things on every case, move through model analysis and mounting in one decisive pass, use a matched VITA tooth library to achieve lingualized occlusion with minimal chairside adjusting, set teeth in seconds with the snap tool, and design to your own output parameters so cases fit the first time. Every technique is drawn from real production cases, not theory — small, repeatable wins you can apply Monday morning.

    Learning Objectives

    • Build and apply per-indication presets in 3Shape Dental System to reduce redundant clicks and standardize design quality across cases.
    • Streamline model analysis and mounting into a single decisive pass that drives faster, more predictable tooth setup.
    • Apply a matched VITA tooth library to achieve lingualized occlusion in CAD, minimizing chairside occlusal adjustment at delivery.
    • Identify the print and mill output parameters that influence first-time fit, and design within those constraints to reduce remakes.

Corey is a denturist and digital dentistry specialist who helps clinics and labs transition from analog to digital workflows. He brings hands-on experience across 3D printing, milling, intraoral and desktop scanning, and a wide range of CAD/CAM and design software for dentures, partials, custom trays, and more. As an international speaker, he shares real-world case studies and implementation strategies that make digital prosthetics accessible and practical for labs and clinics of all sizes.

Who's Afraid of AI? Practical Marketing for Denturists
Sponsored by Mintops
Alex Zlatin, CEO
  • Alex Zlatin, CEO

AI has arrived in marketing, and the headlines make it sound like everything you knew is now obsolete. It isn't. Good marketing still starts with knowing who your patients are and what to say to them, and AI is a tool that makes that work faster, not a replacement for the thinking behind it. This session is a practical, jargon-free look at what AI can actually do for a denturist practice, where it saves real time, and how to use it without putting your reputation or your compliance at risk. You do not need any technical background to walk away with something you can use on Monday.

    Learning Objectives

    • Identify their ideal patients and the core message that reaches them, the foundation every marketing tool depends on.
    • Recognize where AI tools can save time on everyday tasks like writing content, social posts, email, and review responses, without needing any technical skill.
    • Apply a simple human review step that keeps AI-generated content accurate, on-brand, and compliant with professional advertising standards.
    • Build a realistic, low-cost marketing plan they can start using right away.
