Alex has worked in both direct life insurance and reinsurance, with a focus on topics such as accelerated underwriting, mortality improvement, and predictive modeling. Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.

    Dorothy Andrews is the Senior Behavioral Data Scientist and Actuary for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. She has more than 25 years of actuarial and statistical modeling experience with life insurance companies, property and casualty insurance companies, reinsurance companies, international consulting firms, and government agencies. She serves as adjunct faculty at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in the Mathematics and Statistics Department, teaching predictive analytics.

    Dorothy is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA). She holds a Ph.D. in Media Psychology. Her research focuses on how big data and algorithms are altering our perceptions of risk, differentially and adversely impacting communities of color, and undermining human autonomy through automated decision-making systems. Dorothy believes that because insurance is becoming increasingly mediated by mobile, wearable, and AI technologies, human oversight is critical to ensuring these technologies operate ethically and with transparency, thereby preventing disparate impacts on those segments of society that lack the privilege and resources to mitigate their ill effects.

Jeffrey plays a leading role in shaping regulatory responses through direct engagement with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and international supervisors, particularly on evolving solvency standards, macroprudential oversight, and group capital frameworks.

    He has served in leadership roles across industry groups and professional organizations, including as a former Board member of the American Academy of Actuaries and Chair of the Actuarial Foundation. His work bridges U.S. and global regulatory regimes, supporting the company’s strategic growth and alignment across jurisdictions. Beyond his technical contributions, Jeffrey is a respected voice in the actuarial community, frequently advancing industry dialogue on regulatory modernization.     John W. Robinson FSA, MAAA  was the 74th president of the Society of Actuaries (SOA, 2022-2023), and the 7th president of the International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA, 2010-2013).

    John’s actuarial career began at a consulting firm in Jamaica, then four life insurance companies in the US where he focused on valuation and financial reporting.  He then switched fields to Other Postemployment Benefits (OPEB), serving as a consultant to 130 municipal entities, primarily school districts, in the State of New York. Finally, he was as a life insurance regulator for the State of Minnesota.   He retired on July 30, 2021.

    In addition to two terms of service on the SOA Board, John has volunteered in several roles for the SOA, the American Academy of Actuaries and the Caribbean Actuarial Association.

    John holds a B.Sc. (Special) in Mathematics from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica, an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Delaware and an M.S. in Statistics from the Florida State University.

    Karyn brings a strong background in total rewards, health and benefits, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) through her work with Fortune 500 clients across industries.

    Karyn is a leader on the WTW North America AI Healthcare Task Force and helps clients with AI Workforce Transformation.  Through this role and other leadership and innovation work, she enjoys collaborating with multiple stakeholders and influencing senior leaders to create impact.

    Prior to joining WTW, Karyn graduated from a leadership development program at a financial services firm. She gained extensive program management and leadership experience through a variety of HR, finance, operations and technology roles. In her last role she led agile teams developing technology solutions to drive large-scale business transformation.

    Karyn graduated summa cum laude and holds a B.A. degree with honors from Boston College. She has presented at World at Work, Conference Board, and Risk and Insurance Management Society and is a winner of the 2018 WTW CEO Circle Award.

Ken was a lecturer in the Mathematics department at Illinois State University for over 20 years.
