You can attend Tapestry 2026 online, in person at Belmont Secondary, or in person for music at Esquimalt Secondary.

The 2026 Tapestry Conference features more than 75 online and in-person workshops for K-12 teachers spanning a variety of subject areas and topics. The in-person workshops take place at a variety of locations across Southern Vancouver Island, and you can easily engage and enjoy the online workshops. Food and beverages will be provided at Belmont and Esquimalt. Belmont will provide vegetarian and vegan choices.

Fees and Policies

Registration will close for in-person workshops at noon on February 8, 2026. 

Registration will close for online workshops at noon on February 13, 2026. 

Organization paying Fees

The following members' organizations will pay for their member's registration. Follow the emailed instructions. If you pay at the time of registration, the Tapestry Conference will not issue refund.

Remember to follow the emailed instructions. If you pay at the time of registration, Tapestry Conference will not issue refund.

Individual paying fees

There are no refunds. 

Early bird rates until noon on January 30, 2026. 

Education Assistants, Youth and Child Care Workers, ECEs, and Administrative Assistants - $55 early bird / $110 regular

BCTF members - $75 early bird / $100 regular

Independent school teachers - $130 early bird / $180 regular

Administators (Principals and Vice Principals) and all others - $130 early bird / $180 regular

Registration and payment process for individuals

  1. Register for the conference. After you register you will receive an invoice. 
  2. Within 24 hours e-transfer the amount owning to accounts@gvta.net. Your e-transfer must include the following personalized memo message: 
    Tapestry Conference registration for YOUR NAME and YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.
  3. Please allow three business days for your payment receipt to be emailed. 

Registrations that fail to e-transfer their payment within 24 hours will be cancelled. 

Refund and Cancellation Policies

  • There are NO refunds. If you are no longer able to attend we would appreciate it if you let us know to allow another participant to take your seat. 

  • No changes will be permitted after 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, February 8, 2026. 

  • No exceptions to the refund policy will be made.

  • In the case of inclimate weather, as many workshops as possible will proceed online. 

The Tapestry Conference reserves the right to cancel or change workshops with low enrolment. Participants will be notified about workshop cancellations or changes by the end of the day on February 2, 2026. Participants will be given 24 hours to change their workshops. 

Registrant’s Responsibilities

  • The Tapestry Conference cannot be held responsible for ensuring that registration and communication emails reach the registrant. If you have not received your registration confirmation email or the conference communication email, please contact the registrar at exhibitors@gvta.net.

  • The registrant is responsible for ensuring they enter their personal contact information correctly. 

  • The Tapestry Conference cannot be held responsible for an individual's ability to access and operate any computer applications including but not limited to email, the attendee conference website, and Zoom. 

  • All participants are required to be respectful of all other participants. Any concerns should be directly addressed to the individual and not discussed in the chat or with other attendees.

    Heather Willms, B.A., B.Ed., M.A.Ed., is a reading intervention teacher and university sessional instructor on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Her work includes mentoring, modeling, and building resources and intervention programming that supports teachers and students in Kindergarten through to Grade 7. Heather has twenty-three years of experience as a classroom teacher, learning support teacher, and district lead teacher for English Language Learners. She has also worked as a district and provincial educational instructor, presenting workshops on issues that impact teachers and students at the classroom level. A sought after presenter, Heather also works as a reading consultant and coach for districts, schools, and teachers moving towards reading instruction that aligns with the Science of Reading.
