In times of economic uncertainty and rapid change, upskilling the workforce is no longer optional— it’s essential. And it starts with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the backbone of Canada’s economy.

On September 23, 2025, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), in partnership with the Future Skills Centre, Magnet, and the Diversity Institute, will host the Skills Bridge Summit. This one-day, in-person event will bring together business, chambers of commerce, sector councils, not-for-profits, and industry leaders to explore economic megatrends, share practical solutions, and discussing actionable skilling strategies to help the SME workforce grow and adapt.

Under the theme “Building the Skills-Driven Economy”, the summit will focus on the evolving talent landscape, the role of AI and new technologies in the workforce, and the upskilling revolution to equip SMEs with the tools they need to thrive. Attendees will gain fresh insights through panel discussions, fireside chats and networking opportunities.
