Simon Lafleur is the founder and CEO of Sunbird Energy, a Montreal-based company that helps organizations tackle the very real challenges of the energy transition through intelligent energy management.

Trained in construction engineering at ÉTS (École de technologie supérieure), Simon first gained hands-on experience on construction sites before moving into energy efficiency and decarbonization consulting. Over the years, he became increasingly convinced that solving the power capacity challenge - rather than simply reducing consumption - would be key to enabling large-scale electrification in Quebec and beyond.

This idea led him to launch Sunbird Energy in 2022 with a clear mission: to help organizations make smarter use of their electrical infrastructure. Today, his team works with companies in the commercial and industrial sectors to deploy intelligent energy management systems that integrate solar power generation, energy storage, air preheating, and electric vehicle charging.
Simon brings leadership, precision, and foresight to a grounded, hands-on approach to the energy transition. A committed strategist, he ensures that every project aligns with a broader ambition: building a more resilient, efficient, and intelligent energy future.

    --

As a founding member and former Partner of Hometeam Ventures, Julieta launched, fundraised, and managed operations of the venture fund investing in early-stage start-ups bringing breakthrough technology to the world's largest - but least innovative - industries: construction and housing.
