Chad Rintoul is the Chief Executive Officer of the British Columbia Notaries Association, the organization which represents the interests of Notary Public from across British Columbia.
Chad is a graduate of the University of Windsor, and the University of Western Ontario. He was previously the Chief Administrative Officer of the Association of BC Land Surveyors, the regulator governing the practice of Land Surveying in British Columbia. He has served on the Victoria Airport Authority Board of Directors from 2007 – 2013, where he was Chairman of Planning and Development, and from 2013 – 2018 as a Board member and President of the Peninsula Minor Hockey Association, and Director of the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association.
In addition to his role with the BCNA, Chad is elected to municipal Council for the Town of Sidney, and a member of the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia Stakeholder Advisory Committee. He also volunteers as a member of the Appeal Committee for BC Hockey.
Daniel Boisvert was born and raised in South Delta. He graduated from Delta Secondary in 1991 and pursued a Marketing and Finance Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Daniel returned to school and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce for Royal Roads University in Victoria. He held various sales, management and banking positions, including one as Certified Financial Planner, before embarking on his journey to become a Notary Public through the University of British Columbia.
Daniel was commissioned as Notary Public in 2008 receiving both the Robert Reid award in Property Law and the BDO Dunwoody Award for achieving the most consistent high marks in both the course material and statutory examinations.
Daniel is a past Director of the Society of Notaries Public and was elected to serve three terms. In 2019, he left the Board of the Society to head up a new advocacy organization for BC Notaries, the BC Notaries Association. He is currently the President of the newly formed Board.
In November of 2018, during the municipal elections, Daniel was elected to the Delta Board of Education. He currently holds the position of Vice Chair of the Board.
When not in his office Daniel can be found golfing, curling or cycling.
Niki Sharma was elected MLA for Vancouver-Hastings in 2020 and previously served as the deputy caucus chair and parliamentary secretary for Community Development and Non-Profits.
Niki is a lawyer whose practice focused on representing Indigenous people, including residential school survivors. Niki has worked across B.C. as an advocate on climate policy and reconciliation. She has also been recognized for her work on combatting racism.
Niki was elected to the board of Vancity Credit Union where she served as vice-chair and chaired the Climate Justice Working Group. She also served as chair of the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation. In these roles, she worked to improve her community and make life better for people and our planet.
In 2017, Niki worked as a senior ministerial assistant helping to deliver more child care spaces for B.C. families.
Niki was raised in Sparwood, B.C. A mother of two, she has lived in East Vancouver for more than 15 years and has deep connections in the community.
Katie Armitage is legal counsel with the Ministry of Attorney General’s Justice Service Branch. She graduated from UBC’s faculty of law in 2006, was called to the bar in Ontario in 2007 and in BC in 2010.
Katie began her career in private practice on Bay Street in Toronto before heeding the call to public service and joining the Ontario government first as a Crown Counsel and then a policy analyst within Ontario’s cabinet office. Upon relocating back to BC in 2010, Katie spent several years at a boutique governance consulting firm where she supported numerous boards and senior executives on a broad range of governance matters. Before joining the Ministry in 2020, Katie spent five years as legal counsel at the health regulator known most recently as the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
Gregory Steves, BA, MCP, RI(BC) provides leadership to the Policy and Legal Services Division and supports the LTSA’s strategic growth and operational efficiency objectives.
Gregory brings over 20 years of experience with the BC Public Service, primarily focused on land and real estate matters. He has held a number of positions with the Government of BC and was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister of the Office of Housing and Construction Standards in June of 2016. In that role, Gregory was responsible for building codes and standards, affordable housing policy and programs, and education and dispute resolution services for landlords and tenants.
Under Gregory’s leadership, the Office of Housing of Construction Standards launched Homes for BC: A 30-point Action Plan for Housing Affordability in 2018, including a historic ten-year $7 Billion investment in housing affordability. Gregory successfully guided the Residential Tenancy Branch through a multi-year modernization and service improvement initiative. Gregory was also the past President of the Real Estate Institute of BC, having served on the Board of Governors from 2014-2018.
Gregory holds a Masters Degree in City Planning from the University of Manitoba, alongside a Bachelor of Arts (Geography) and Certificate in Urban Studies, both from Simon Fraser University. Gregory also studied real estate at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.
Larry Blaschuk is Registrar of Land Titles at the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA), responsible for ensuring the integrity of records in the land title register.
Larry joined the LTSA in 2008 from private practice as a solicitor and as corporate counsel with one of BC’s leading registration service providers. He has extensive real estate and corporate/commercial practice experience serving both commercial and residential clients throughout his career.
Outside of the LTSA, Larry is active in the community, coaching track and field since 2006 and attending the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games and numerous World Athletics Championship with his athletes.
Larry obtained his LL.B. / J.D. from the University of British Columbia.
John Mayr has been the Executive Director of the Society of Notaries Public since 2017. He has a Masters in Business Administration, Master of Laws, and over 20 years as a leader in professional regulation. In the past he has overseen the regulation of denturists, licensed practical nurses, and social workers. John is the past president of the BC Council of Administrative Tribunals, which is dedicated to advancing administrative law and administrative justice in British Columbia.
Rajiv Gandhi is a Victoria-based lawyer with clients on the island and the mainland and across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia. For the last 26 years, a significant part of his practice has involved acquiring and developing land and determining ownership rights.) He is general counsel to the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors. He has acted as counsel during the construction of the Millennium Line and Canada Line Skytrain projects, the Golden Ears Bridge, and the Richmond Rapid Bus. He has advised government entities, crown corporations, and other statutory bodies on land use and development. He has also counseled developers in small, large, multi-phase, and multi-year development projects.
Cam Sherk is a Notary Public with Sherk & Gandolfo Notaries Public Inc. with offices in Squamish and West Vancouver. He has been practicing since 2011 and specializes in Real Estate Conveyancing and Estate Planning.
Tim Lack is a Vancouver solicitor with 30 years’ experience, primarily in the area of private lending. He is a frequent speaker for lawyers, paralegals, brokers, and now notaries, on this subject.
Ken Vimalesan represents executors, trustees, and beneficiaries in estates and trust matters including estate administration issues, the validity of wills, wills variation, and the interpretation of wills and trusts. Ken founded Scion Law in 2022 after practicing in a downtown boutique for the first part of his career.
Marny Morin is a Notary Public and Program Manager for the BC Notaries Captive Insurance Co. Marny is also the Secretary of the Society of Notaries Public of B.C

Quang received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of British Columbia and his law degree from the University of Manitoba. Hilde Deprez was commissioned as a Notary in 2001 and has a Notary practice in Vancouver with focus on Wills & Personal Planning. Hilde is also one of the teachers for the Notary students enrolled in the MAALS program and in 2022 joined the PAL Advisor team with the Society of Notaries.
Ron Usher has spoken throughout Canada and the U.S.A. on topics including real estate law and practice, e- filing systems, digital security, fraud, social media and Bitcoin. In addition to teaching real estate law at SFU, he is a member of the Society of Notaries Public of B.C., the Law Society of B.C., the Canadian Bar Association, the Real Estate Institute of B.C., and the B.C. Real Estate Section of the Canadian Bar Association.
Hassan El Masri is a Notary public with a practice in East Vancouver. He is currently President of the Board of the Directors of the SNPBC and serves as a Governor on the Board of the Notary Foundation. Hassan also serves as a member of the Board of the People's law School. Hassan was a graduate of the first cohort of the current MAALs program at SFU and has been in practice since 2010.
