The AECM Annual Event is the flagship gathering for our members, partners, and friends, serving as a premier platform for insightful discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. Each year, it combines the General Assembly meeting with a high-level seminar focused on a topic of strategic importance to our community, featuring a distinguished lineup of speakers from European institutions, supranational bodies, and guarantee institutions worldwide. This year, we are honored to have the Association of German Guarantee Banks (Verband Deutscher Bürgschaftsbanken e. V., VDB) as our host, ensuring an inspiring setting for thought leadership and meaningful connections within our network.

The guarantee banks in Germany will celebrate their 75th anniversary in 2025. Since 1950, they have been supporting small and medium-sized enterprises as well as start-ups with guarantees and sureties to facilitate financing. They are an important partner for the economy by reducing credit barriers and promoting innovation, thereby strengthening the SME sector.

The Association of German Guarantee Banks (VDB) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. It fosters exchange among its members and represents the interests of guarantee banks to policymakers, businesses, and the public.
