Katie Cares and Ronald McDonald House Charities^® of Manitoba.

 

About Katie Cares

Katie Cares’ mandate is to help sick kids get past being sick by providing the things needed to pass long days of treatments or hospital visits. Katie Cares operates Katie’s Cottage, a respite home located directly across from Boundary Trails Health Centre, for individuals and families being served within the healthcare system in southern Manitoba.

Katie’s Cottage, which opened in August 2016, features seven bedrooms and an inviting common space for guests. In 2024, the organization provided a home away from home for 898 guests and served individuals from 128 communities across Manitoba, as well as families from other parts of Canada. For more information, visit katiecares.ca

 

About Ronald McDonald House Charities^® of Manitoba

Since 1984, RMHC Manitoba has been caring for families with ill or injured children by providing essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. In 2024, RMHC Manitoba supported 1623 families from 287 communities with 10,899 nights of accommodation. In addition to offering a welcoming community of care and compassion, RMHC Manitoba saved families over $3.5M in costly out of pocket expenses in 2024 alone.
