Cifas is a not-for-profit fraud prevention membership organization based in the United Kingdom, recognized as the UK's leading fraud prevention service. It manages the National Fraud Database and the Insider Threat Database, which are the largest and most comprehensive sources of fraud risk data in the country. Every year, hundreds of thousands of records are added to these databases, providing a rich and constantly updated source of information. Cifas operates by facilitating the real-time and online sharing of this data and intelligence among its members, which include banks, credit card companies, loan companies, and other financial service providers. This collaborative approach allows Cifas members to effectively prevent and combat financial fraud, protecting both themselves and their customers from fraudulent activities.
